Floating coastal history
The Granvin is a rugged fjord boat, having serviced the Hardangerfjord for more than a generation. The boat was built at the Mjellem & Karlsen ship yard in Bergen and was launched in 1931. At the time it was considered an up to date, future-oriented vessel, ready to throw herself into the new times having room for the total of three – 3 – cars!
In 1987 the local service route to the innermost part of the Hardangerfjord was discontinued and the boat came into the possession of a team of veteran boat enthusiasts. Today this fine representative of west-Norwegian coastal culture has become a real gem, with a new engine, regained glow and its original interior intact.
If you are planning a celebration for your family and friends or looking for a way to represent your firm in a dignified way, the Granvin will form a distinguished setting for it.
