Kleiveland Gard accepts groups of up to 50 people by appointment. Kleiveland is an ideal place for a company trip, blue trip, teams or groups who want to celebrate a day and more. Here it is possible to experience real local western history.
The barn at Kleiveland Gard, which dates from 1890, is furnished as a cozy function room with fireplace and large terrace. Here, a cozy atmosphere is created with candles where guests are served home-cooked food and refreshments.
The host, who grew up on the farm, tells stories from the old days and shows video about salmon fishing with gilje and sitjenot, which was the basis of life for people along the Osterfjord until 1992 when all catch of wild salmon here was protected. Kleiveland was a roadless settlement until 1983. Arriving by boat is therefore a special experience. On the farm there is also a restored basement where salmon and trout are smoked according to old recipes.
Kleiveland Gard is located where the road stops at Osterfjorden on Osterøy. The boat trip to Kleiveland Gard takes approx. an hour from Bergen at 20 knots. The boat docks at the newly restored steamship quay. From the quay and up to the farm it is a 10 minute walk in beautiful nature.
