Start with the ship’s schedule
An excursion should be planned around the actual arrival port and the ship’s required return time. Share the ship name, date, passenger count and all-aboard time. A city-centre meeting point may be different from the terminal where your ship docks.
Make transfers and responsibilities clear
Ask whether collection from the cruise terminal, any land transfers and the return journey are included. A private excursion is not automatically an excursion operated by the cruise line. Confirm the arrangements for changes to the ship’s arrival or departure before booking.
Choose a realistic programme
Protect time for getting between the ship and the excursion vessel. A shorter programme with a clear main attraction may suit a limited port call better than multiple distant stops. Meals, admissions and guiding should be identified separately in the proposal.
